TAKE AIM WITH .22LR BENCHREST PAPER TARGETS

Benchrest shooting is a form of shooting that uses high precision rifles to shoot paper targets at varying distances.

At Killough Shooting Sports (KSS), we have paper shooting targets available for competitions hosted by both the Professional Shooting League and American Rimfire Association. Both organisations provide fair and well organised competitions for benchrest shooters across the states.

Firstly, let’s take a look at the PSL target

This is the official target of the Professional Shooting League. Matches use .22LR ammunition shot at 50 yards.

The target features scoring rings with various values included within each scoring box. The values of shots in those boxes are 100 points, 50 points, 25 points, and 0 points. Scoring is based on the best edge scoring method. A bullet hole that breaks a line is given the higher value.

In addition, KSS also works with the American Rimfire Association, a sanctioning body for .22lr benchrest competitions.

Unlimited ARA target

The official Target of the American Rimfire Association. It includes 25 bulls and numerous sighters. Again, these are designed for .22LR benchrest competitions shot at 50 yards.

Brand new ARA Factory Class target

The official Target of the American Rimfire Association New Factory Class. This features 25 bulls and numerous sighters and is the same as the unlimited target but is exclusively for factory class competitors.

The Factory Class is a new initiative spearheaded in association with ELEY ammunition.

It allows beginners to show up and shoot. Competitors select a .22LR rifle under $1,000, add an optic, add a bipod or front rest and compete. It follows the same rules as the traditional ARA benchrest matches allowing each competitor 20 minutes to shoot a 25 bull target aiming to achieve a maximum score of 2500.
